About Heavenly Garden

Why Heavenly Garden?
The reason for this name has a long story. We will try to summarize this story, in order for you to understand what has happened in the past.

Since our site was first hosted on a free host we had our free-host name, but we wanted our own host and domain. In order to start our own host we also needed a name, we could use the old name Frozen Flowers. But if you would take a good look at that name, it would sound as if it was always winter. That is why we had to think of a new name. That was irrelevant to any season of the year.

We have had many polls and contests to help us think of a fitting name. After getting lots of inspiration we finally came to a decision and thought Heavenly Garden. This would be a great name for our site.

The host and domain we have right now was donated from a good friend of us. He was so generous to donate us this host and domain. We sincerely want to thank him a million times.

Before Heavenly Garden there was...
Frozen Flowers was born on the 6th of May 2006. This does not mean the owner of the site White Purity has changed. We have only changed its name, this was due to wrong interpretations people had with the site’s previous name. We never wanted to be a racist and to avoid any other blames; we decided to change our name.

We chose the name Frozen Flowers, because it gives us a nice feeling of coming across a beautiful flower which is frozen. We have also browsed the Internet for any other anime design sites for having the same name. Luckily we did not find any other sites, with the same name yet.

Before Frozen Flowers, we were known using the name White Purity. White Purity was born on 9th of December 2005. White Purity was also the start of the combined work of Sumi and Isaac. Together they started building on the site you see in front of you now. White represents the purest colour and purity is what comes from a pure colour. Sakura from Tsubasa Chronicle was our first thought when we came up with this name and that is also our reason to use a picture of her as our top banner for the first layout. Later on we also found out that white purity stands for flower (in Latin: Cosmos Bipinnatus).

Heavenly Garden, Frozen Flowers, White Purity had two predecessors: Koi Tenchi and 1000th Summer.

Koi Tenchi started in October 2003 and was a site based on anime graphics/anime reviews/fun stuff. The name was a typing mistake. It was supposed to be Koi Tenshi, which means "Black Angel", but it got misspelled into Tenchi. It was slowly growing bigger and more popular, but in March 2004 it had to close due to circumstances.

After closing down Koi Tenchi, Sumi continued to work on a friend’s site: Anime Toji. She wrote anime reviews there, but got tired of that eventually...

1000th Summer started in February 2005, almost a year after Koi Tenchi closed down. The name 1000th summer came from the anime AIR TV. In the opening you see a screen with the words "The 1000th summer ---". Sumi liked the way this sounded and decided to give her site that name. It did not last long, because the host closed down and deleted all the files. After this incident Sumi did not start over again. 1000th Summer closed in April 2005.

We have also had a few other layouts for the current site, you can see those below. For our new name we have also made a new layout, which we are using at the moment.


Hiatus period
After the arrival of the new layout 12, in January 2008. The site went on a hiatus. Sumi ran out of inspiration and got busier after getting her own job. Isaac got a job offered in China, and there he wasn't able to connect to the server and couldn't update the site anymore.
The site went on hiatus for one whole year. After Isaac's return from China (in the end of 2008), he started to revive the site again. The problem was that he had no designers or whatsoever. He started to work on the site alone, until in half January 2009, GaMo came to help out. Which is a good friend of Isaac. Now with the help of GaMo. Isaac was able to do a lot more and revived the site and with success. In February 2009 the site got a huge amount of new visitors again and new features got released.

Previous Layouts

Layout 16
This layout was featuring a cute guitar girl, without a name and also made by GaMo. We had to create a new layout style... We used the old style for too long and we wanted to give Heavenly Garden a more grown up style. We came up with this, this new layout has new functions within the navigation and layers. New functions easier to use for visitors and also for us webmasters. Black and white to give the cool breeze of it and the topbanner to finish it off. We are hoping to use this layout for a while.

Layout 15
This layout was featuring a cute girl, yet also nameless, made by GaMo. We wanted to have some lighter colours. We didn't like the dark colours too much, it wasn't the right season for the right colours... We came up with this new layout, but we started to feel for something new. We tried new kinds of layouts and were using this one in the meantime.

Layout 14
This layout was featuring a little devil, gifted by an anonymous visitor of our site. We wanted to give Heavenly Garden a kind of cool look. One of our visitors donated this topbanner to us and we used it. We were very grateful to this person, for donating this. Though, because of the dark colour combination of the layout, we decided to change the colours and created a new layout soon after.

Layout 13
This layout was featuring a cute girl, made by GaMo. A complete new colour theme made possible through replacing all previous colours. It was like a new start for Heavenly Garden after the long Hiatus of 2008. This layout lasted for about 3 weeks, since we had a new topbanner replacing this one.

Layout 12
This was the lastest layout Sumi created, featuring a character from Lucky Star. This new layout has many functions as it is stretchable.

This was our autumn and winter layout, featuring a lovely cat girl resting on a bed of leaves. This was also the final layout in our old style.

Layout 9
This was our first layout of 2007, to start of the new year with a refreshing splash of water, we wanted to create an underwater style of layout. The clearness of water shows its beauty. We think we succeeded quite well in creating a beautiful water layout.

This was our 2006 Christmas Layout. The layout features Saber and Rin from Fate Stay Night in a Christmas outfit.

Layout 7
After having started a new host and domain, we wanted to have a more professional layout. We wanted to have a smaller topbanner and a more structured layout.
We tried to create a nice and fitting layout. This green style creates a nice atmosphere and is more fitting to the Heavenly Garden idea.

Layout 6
New host, new name and of course a new layout. We wanted something with a heavenly feeling, and this is what it was. A pretty angel from Angels Dust, surrounded by flowers. This layout was the beginning of Heavenly Garden.

Layout 5
Summer is in the air, and we decided to celebrate that with a happy summery layout. Flowers, a beach girl and some summer accents were the basic elements in this layout. This was the last layout the site would have with the name "Frozen Flowers".

This is the first layout our site had with the new name "Frozen Flowers". It features a pretty girl from Carnelian. This layout had a cool wintery feeling to it, but eventually we decided to change it since it is summer now.

Layout 1
White Purity's first layout. It took us quite a while to think of a name for the website and to make a fitting layout. Eventually we decided on White Purity as name, but now the layout. Sumi made four different layout designs, and this one got chosen.
